This program prepares students for employment as Medical Assistants, office clerks in medical facilities and as examining room assistants in physician’s offices. The program includes instruction in medical office procedures, records keeping, appointment scheduling, telephone skills, and medical financial records management, patient billing and coding procedures for insurance reimbursement. The student will learn anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, the fundamentals of disease process and its relationship to the human body, health care delivery systems, basics of medical records services, ethical and legal responsibilities, safety/security procedures, basic data processing and employability skills.
Entrance Requirements: Student must be 18 years of age, submit application, attend orientation and interviews to determine eligibility. Submit a GED/High School Diploma or TABE test score of 10 or better.
